SasaHivi Media produces radio show for Radio Patapoe in Amsterdam, Netherlands

On Saturday 1-10-2011 SasaHivi Media produced a special Saturday nite live prime time show on the Amsterdam based radio station Radio Patapoe. The show was a Kenya special, about what's going on in Kenya, and in particular to showcase that Kenya is more than just an(other) ICC case.
These days, most of the world got the perception that Kenya is just another far away country which only consists of politicians doing their very best to bring the country down on its knees. The show will talk about the current political ongoings in Kenya, but also show that Kenya has a lively popular culture, which expresses the dreams, hopes, fun and much more of the Kenyan people.
Special focus will be on genuine Kenyan music which is hardly played by the commercial mainstream stations in Kenya. The show was presented in Amsterdam by Radio Patapoe presenter Krul and Kenyan based artist RxAxLxF. From Kenya, poet and political activist (artivist) Ndungi Githuku and musician Abbi participated through a live connection.
Particular the live input from Githuku and Abbi was outstanding, as they enlightened the audience with a lot of insight views of current Kenya.

It was the first time in the history of Amsterdam that Kenya has a 2 hours exclusive special in a Saturday nite live primetime show!

Radio Patapoe is the only uncensored, non-government controlled radio station in the Amsterdam area. It is is one of the few remaining on-air havens for free speech, alternative and global culture in the Netherlands.
