SasaHivi Media produces new website for Alliance Francaise de Kenya

SasaHivi Media publishes the new website for the Alliance Française de Kenya

The Alliance Française de Kenya is the Kenyan branch of the French Cultural Cooperation Organization.

The Alliance Française was founded in 1883 in Paris, France and is established since 1949 in Nairobi, Kenya.  The Alliance Française de Nairobi's primary mission is to offer space and create opportunity for free artistic and cultural expression, thus fostering healthy exchanges among people of diverse cultural backgrounds. The Alliance Française de Nairobi offers amongst many other things French language courses on many different levels and a huge library full with French books, CD's and movies. For the showcasing of cultural projects, the center is equipped with a movie / theatre stage, several indoor exhibition halls and a large outdoor stage in the Alliance Française Gardens.
The Alliance Française de Mombasa is since 1975 in Mombasa and offers regular and special French language courses for both individuals and companies. They offer training programmes (DELF and DALF International Diplomas), translation and interpretation services (English/French). The value-added cultural environment ensures that a student does not only learn French but also the civilization behind it through an enriching cultural program (cin-club, festival of films, concerts, exhibitions), a Library (5,000 books, DVDs and magazines) and social events.
The Alliance Française de Nairobi is in Nairobi situated in the French Cultural Centre and is based right in the heart of Nairobi Central Business District on Loita Street.
The Alliance Française de Mombasa is based in the heart of Mombasa, and is situated in the Freed Building, 2nd Floor, corner Moi Avenue and Kwa Shibu Road.

While the original production was only limited to the website of the Alliance Française de Nairobi, during the production process also Alliance Française de Mombasa joined the project. The concept developing team of SasaHivi Media Ltd had therefore to go back to the drawing table and to conceptualize the structure of the whole website afresh. We therefore decided to make 2 websites in 1 and call it the website of the Alliance Française de Kenya. A visitor to the site can choose on the landing page (the splash page), to go to which institution. As the whole website is in as well an English as a French language version, the 2-in-1 website became actually a 4 websites in 1! The different languages can be switched at any point from within the website.

The website is powered by a state of the art Content Management System, consisting of an extensive and functional backend and an eyecatching frontend. The Content Management System used for the site is a standardized system, used by all French Government Institutions, as well in France, as well around the world. The production team of SasaHivi Media was privileged to get to learn the use of the system and developed an unique graphical skin for it, while also implementing functionalities, thus taking the entire system to a higher level. We have developed the system in a way hat it also caters for the possibility to have the Alliance Française de Eldoret and the Alliance Française de Kisumu included in the website in a similar way later on as well.

After several successful productions and events produced by SasaHivi Media for the Alliance Française de Nairobi (as example see the Contemporary Art in Kenya project:, we regard the new website another shining example of Kenyan-French cooperation!

SasaHivi Media is proud to be associated with the Alliance Française and we want to invite all of you to check their website and attend their cultural and language programmes - some of the SasaHivi staff have studied and are studying French there and are making good use of the skills gained! :)

Last, but not at all least, find the new website here:
